Our Sports Programs: Empowering Youth Through Rugby
Sport has the capability to influence democratic practices, teamwork and leadership.

Rugby: A Powerful Tool for Youth Development
At Growing Seed, we believe in the power of sports as a catalyst for change. Rugby is more than just a game—it’s a platform for youth empowerment, equipping young people with the discipline, skills, and resilience needed to break the cycle of poverty and build thriving communities.
How Rugby Supports Youth Development
Building Discipline and Resilience
Rugby teaches young people the value of hard work, perseverance, and commitment—essential qualities for success in life, education, and future careers.
Fostering Leadership and Teamwork
Through collaboration on the field, young players develop strong leadership skills, communication abilities, and a sense of responsibility—qualities that prepare them to lead their communities to a brighter future
Promoting Physical and Mental Well-being
Sports like rugby encourage an active lifestyle, improving physical fitness while also supporting mental resilience, emotional strength, and stress management.
Teaching Respect and Integrity
Rugby is built on core values such as respect, discipline, and sportsmanship, shaping young individuals into responsible and ethical leaders.
Creating Economic Opportunities
Through structured rugby programs, youth gain access to scholarships, training, and career pathways in sports, coaching, and related fields—opening doors to economic independence.
Strengthening Community Bonds
Rugby unites young people from diverse backgrounds, fostering social inclusion and a sense of belonging while breaking societal barriers.
Transforming Futures
We integrate rugby into our broader mission of empowering youth through education, sports, and agriculture. By using rugby as a tool for transformation, we equip young people with the skills and mindset needed to thrive, become self-sufficient, and drive positive change in the Niger Delta.

Every child benefits from participation, competition, and recreation, while rugby for development creates stronger, more connected societies.
